I’m Back

I hate to say this, but my husband was right. I should never have left you, my little piece of blog paradise! I so missed this.

But. There are changes going forward. I haven’t supported just tattoos for quite some time. So I have to change the blog name and allow myself to write and post all the random coolness I want to share.

I hope you’ll stick around!

Valuable information!

Wendt Worth Corgi's Weblog

I had received this some time ago but was just talking to someone about how not to allow ice cold water or ice cubes in the water in extreme heat/humidity like we’ve been having or an over hot dog after running when they are panting heavily. They had never heard of this. So with that I thought it would be a good idea to post this as a warning and precaution in hopes this will be valuable advice to someone.

Hello Everyone,

I am writing this in hopes that some may learn from what I just went through. We were having a good weekend till Saturday. On Saturday I showed my Baran and left the ring. He was looking good and at the top of his game. He had a chance at no
less then one of the two AOM’s.

It did not work out that way…

It’s A Sorta Goodbye…

Hey guys!  I’m going to be winding down on Mama Tattoo to focus more on Mama Tarot for a bit.

I'll be back...

I’ll be back…

Many of you know I’ve been a card reader for well over 35 years, and now that I’ve finally found the freedom that I needed, I’m going to be a full time psychic medium here on Long Island.

I still love tattoos, and tattoo artists, but I need to focus a bit on my own craft!  Please come join me at MamaTarot – I’ll still be complaining and whining an commenting on things, so you can do that with me there now.

Please come with.  The more the merrier!

Talent: Marisa Kakoulas and Margot Mifflin On Tattooing

Such a great piece on Cool Hunting today!

Veteran tattoo artists that happen to be female.

I love the part about the gypsy tattoo.  That female face – why?  Don’t get me wrong, these can be beautiful.  But I’m just curious about what that actually means to the person who wants that tattoo.

Here is another great piece of history from the article:  “Jesse Knight, the first British female tattooist, who started in 1921. She learned from her dad, who tattooed the family crest on her back. She was the only female artist in the UK for decades; she ran her own shop and built her own machines. A client Knight tattooed when she was in her 60s remembers her lighting a match and holding it out to prove she still had a steady hand, and she still tattooed into the ‘80s. Happily, a lot of her flash and photos of her work survive—you can see it in the book. She was a true pioneer.”

Shooting Up A Tattoo Shop Cuz They Won’t Pierce You….

So this woman goes to a tattoo shop around 10PM.  She asks for a piercing.  I can’t help but wonder what she wanted pierced.  They inform her that they do not do piercings.  She leaves.  She comes back with a dude, and shoots up the shop and a car. (I wonder if this is Trinity Tattoo???  Anyone know?)

This is Colorado, Sally.  Not Florida.  Go smoke a little weed and relax.  You can get a hole put into your body tomorrow!!!

Hope and Joy Amid Difficulty: The Lowland

I cannot wait to read this!!! I adore Jhumpa Lahiri. I feel like I slip into a trance when I read her words.

The Bookshelf of Emily J.

I’ve been a fan of Jhumpa Lahiri’s since reading her first novel The Namesake (2003), and I moved from there to her short stories, including the Pulitzer Prize–winning collection Interpreter of Maladies (1999).  I will read anything she writes.  So when her second novel The Lowland (2013) came out last year, I jumped at the chance to read it.  I quickly put my name on the library list, and then I had to wait many months to actually get my hands on it.  It was worth the wait.

The novel is about two brothers, born around World War II.  Udayan becomes a Naxalite Communist in India in the 1960s, while the Subhash goes to Rhode Island for school.  He stays in the United States and earns a Ph.D., eventually marrying his brother’s wife!  It is an interesting and tragic twist of fate.  His brother is arrested and executed for being…

He Has A Spider On His Cheek. But They Can’t Find Him. Oh! This is Florida!

I’m sorry Florida.

There really, honestly has to be something in your water.

Why can’t anyone find this dude?  I mean, he has a HUGE FRIGGIN SPIDER ON HIS FACE!!!

Playing Hard To Get/Catch?

I don’t mean to be rude, but I really believe that Florida needs a massive, massive overhaul.  Massive.  Am I right??

Avery Edison In Men’s Prison. This Should Not Be Happening Canada!

Avery Edison

It put my heart through the wringer reading about Avery’s misadventures in Toronto.  We haven’t heard from her for a bit now, and that’s frightening.

Please get up to date on the situation if you haven’t heard about it.

I’d Like To Repurpose Myself Into Someone…Who Can Repurpose Stuff…???

Far and away, my favorite on this is the piano.

Now, of course this would come crashing off the wall, sending the shih tzus flying for the door and me probably beneath it.  But it does look cool.

This one, below, is my second favorite, and I believe my friend Steve from The A Room Studios, should do it.
